* 300 grams tofu, sliced into well piieces
* 1/4 cup fried red shallot
* 1/4 cup fried garlic
* 4 fried chilis, sliced
* 1/4 cup tamarind juice
* 2 tablespoons fish sauce
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 2 tablespoons oil (for cooking)
* 1 cup oil (for deep frying)
1. Heat oil in a wok over medium heat. Then deep fry tofus until crispy and golden. Remove and drain.
2. To make the tamarind sauce : Heat oil in a pot over low heat, add the tamarind juice, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir until the sauce is thickened. Then add fried shallots and fried garlics. Stir until all ingredients mixed well and remove from heat.
3. Arrange fried tofus in the serving plate. Pour the tamarind sauce over and garnish with dried chilies. Serve immediately with hot steamed rice.
